Ok you guessed it. And even if you didn’t, thanks to anxiety, I can quite literally hear panic knocking at my door if I don’t confess immediately. My name ain’t Kat. Kat is the curious, courageous, but sometimes incredibly anxious feline that takes over whenever we face a challenge.
So I decided to let her take control, since she’s the one who actually manages to deal with anxiety and more often than not thrives in uncertain circumstances. Me, on the other hand, I’d rather run and hide.
I heard that using the 5,4,3,2,1 method works wonders when you are having a panic attack. So here’s a cute picture for you to focus on whenever you need to see something that snaps you out of it mid-crysis.

Kat’s favourite quotes about anxiety
Of course, Kat is wise, calm, and composed if you haven’t spent enough time around her. So she will often cover her fears by rationalizing every single thing that she crosses paths with, especially emotions. Here, in case you don’t believe me:
You ruined everything
Sincerely Yours, Kat
You stupid b****
Oh wait, no, that is actually a verse from her favourite show, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, that she insists on singing every time we turn around in the middle of the street, deciding that the plans we made earlier are rubbish and that we’d better head home and wallow in sorrow for yet another perfect friday evening.
In case your heart is still racing, I stand by what I said earlier in this post. Just choose random stuff to look at, random music to listen to or even tell someone you trust to ask you for a favour. It can be as little as them asking you to move a little to the left, raise your right hand or follow them to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
So here are some more random pictures for you to enjoy while anxiety can put a sock in it and go away:
Anxiety murdered our tiny attention span by now, right?
A pityful rethoric question that is.
Alas, for those of you who are still here with us, Kat and I would like to share some final thoughts for the day:
- It gets worse before it gets better. Stick with us and at least you’ll have some company while dealing with racing thoughts, boredom out of the blue, crying like there is no tomorrow or feeling like “what’s the point anyway?”.
- Always ask yourself why. Why this, why that, why do I feel this way, why does that bother me, why am I sad, scared or bored right now?
- Find a friend or more. Of course, Kat is always willing to help, but I’d rather see you get to know yourself better and become your own BFF. Note to self: Wink, wink, you stupid b****!
A friend a day keeps anxiety episodes away!
Last, but not least, find anxious people that you admire
Kat found me some pretty darn good examples of how I’m different from others along the way, but it took me more than a decade to realize WHY. And it took nearly two years of observing like-minded people before gathering the strength to come forward with all I’ve learned so far.
And in doing so I’m truly hoping to help all of you out there who, just like yours truly, struggle with anxiety and other similar challenges. It can be a beautiful journey if you take the time to be kind to yourself and understand where it all comes from and where it’s taking you.
